Learn about the facilities we provide to foreign students who come to UCASAL on exchange

How to study at UCASAL?

Students from universities with an agreement

If the foreign student comes within the framework of a bilateral cooperation agreement, the tuition payment will be made at his or her home university and will be exempt from payments at the Catholic University of Salta.

Students from universities without an agreement

If the foreign student comes individually, that is, from an institution of origin without an agreement with UCASAL, they must assume the costs established by the degree they study at our university.

Procedures, formalities and necessary documentation

Before applying, all exchange students must be nominated by their home university.

Additionally, as an application requirement, applicants need to have completed at least 2 years at their home universities and have good academic performance.

Those students whose mother tongue is not Spanish must also meet the language requirements: minimum B1 – third level of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR)

Once they have been nominated by their home university, exchange applicants must present the following documents: 

Academic or analytical title of subjects/transcripts of records/kardex
2 photocopies of ID / Passport
4 photos (4 x 4)
Registration form (download “International student application” form
Medical Certificate indicating that the student is in good health
 Letter of recommendation from the University of origin or the Institution that sponsors the exchange.
Student cover letter.
Photocopy of international health insurance

The documentation must be sent by email to the following addresses: spekarek@ucasal.edu.ar / reportsinternacional@ucasal.edu.ar

Once the application analysis process is completed and the selected subjects have been approved, students will receive the acceptance letter.

Our International Relations office, at the request of exchange students, may appoint tutors, who will guide and accompany them throughout the semester in the process of insertion into the university and any academic or administrative query (such as use of the SAG, registration for exams, etc.)

To study at UCASAL in person, foreign students must comply with the immigration legislation of Argentina (here they can check their immigration category) https://www.argentina.gob.ar/interior/migraciones/residencias )

If you need a visa to enter the country, you must contact the Argentine Consulate in your place of residence and request information about the procedure that must be followed (you can also enter this link that will guide you in the procedures http://www.migraciones.gov.ar/accesos/regimenvisas.php )

They have the possibility of entering Argentina as tourists and then applying for a student visa according to the categories that apply to them. Currently, the procedure is carried out online through the RADEX System and through the website www.migraciones.gov.ar.

IMPORTANT!

  • All students must enter the country with a valid passport valid for at least 6 months on the date of entry into the country.
    Citizens of the US, Canada and Australia must pay the reciprocity tax before entering the country (more information at http://cnyor.mrecic.gov.ar/en/node/1759)
    If students will stay more than 6 months in Argentine territory, they must bring a police report (certificate of good conduct/criminal record certificate from their country of origin). It must be apostilled in accordance with the “Apostille” Convention with The Hague, or authenticated by the Argentine Consulate abroad.
    If students have resided in different countries during the last 5 years, they are required to carry a criminal record certificate from each of these countries.
    If students are undergoing medical treatment, they must bring enough medication for the entire exchange period and their medical records indicating diagnosis, prescribed drug and dosage. They must be signed by your family doctors (we suggest contacting the Argentine Consulate to find out the requirements for entering the country with the prescribed medication).

We do not have our own university residences, but we help foreign students find a family home or university residence that will accommodate them during their studies in the province of Salta, Argentina.
